Do you plan on having children at your wedding or do you want just an adult wedding only, If you have several family members who have small kids, this may be unavoidable, but if you really want adults only, one solution is to address your invitations to Mr and Mrs only, avoid adding the “and family” part of it. If there are going to be children, either provide a table with several games for them to play with or I have also seen a kids corner, where a baby sitter was hired for the evening. Sometimes even making a phone call to the parents to let them know you are sending out the invitation and let them know, you are looking to have an adults only reception.  Sometimes this may be awkward and they may decline, but at least you wont be stressed out on your wedding day whether the kids are being naughty or nice.
